In iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, the smartphone giant enabled third-party (those not made by Apple) browsers and email clients to become the default app on users’ phones.
Apple will allow iPhone users to change the default Internet browser from Safari to other browsers such as Google Chrome or Firefox, according to the newspaper “The Independent” British.
This means iPhone and iPad owners who no longer want to automatically use Safari or Mail when opening links or emails in other apps can finally switch to Google Chrome or Firefox for internet browsing, and Outlook or Gmail for emails.
IOS 14 is expected to be announced later this month.
