The study was done in the University of Indiana and University of Washington. They analyzed data from the giant e-commerce website “Alibaba”.
The results in 15.9 % increase in purchase profitability when human interaction interfered. The fact that buyers cannot speak to the store’s agent, leads to uncertainty about product quality and seller credibility.

Study researcher Yong Tan from the University of Washington said that sellers with limited feedbacks can benefit a lot more from live chat, which will help them boost sales and gain customers trust.
