Reason behind WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram outage
October 5, 2021
A sudden technical malfunction caused the Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp applications owned by Facebook to stop.
The website "Downdetector" said that "users have reported the three applications crashing suddenly around the world."
The site added that it "received complaints about the failure of the three applications as of 15:45 GMT."
For its part, Facebook said it "recognizes that some people are having trouble accessing its apps and products."
"We are working to get things back to normal as soon as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience," she said in a tweet on her official Twitter account.
Facebook has blamed a "faulty configuration change" for an outage that prevented the company's 3.5 billion users from accessing its apps and services, including Whatsapp and Instagram, for nearly six hours.
